As annoying as I thought my Narrative Techniques class was, I know it's improved my writing, so I can't complain. I can apparently continue taking all the creative writing classes without actually having to be the major, so I'm looking forward to that.
Oil painting's been lots of fun, but I've found that I can't stand working on it in class. I'm not sure why. We're working on another still life that's due next Mon, so I should have a photo up for you guys by this weekend.
I'm looking at taking a life drawing class next semester, because I miss drawing torsos and legs and arms. Seriously, I'm still stuck in a "shoulders & above" doodle mode. So annoying. The rest of my classes are English classes, although one is called Visual Rhetoric and we apparently use Scott McCloud's Understanding Comics as our textbook. I think that's about as close to any comic class my school is going to get. And it's English.
I need to work on fixing some of my stuff I've done for my graphic design classes last semester, and once the portfolio is submitted, I'll probably dump a lot here.
I'm volunteering for Dragon*Con this year. I've got a hotel room and everything! I'm so excited, especially considering that John Noble and Mike Mignola are attending this year.
And what's a journal with out shameless self promotion? I've got my 2 Cafepress shops up:
The one for <3ing Doctor Who
and for showing a little JTHM love
