Soo...yeah. I'm on a bit of a roll here. Little Miss
has inspired me with her fantastic comic, and I just can't seem to stop myself. I've decided to embark on a stupid/hopeless/irrational quest to create a plushie for each of the characters. It started with Conbat, and then I realized I had some white faux fir in the basement that was begging to be made into coat trim...and the need wouldn't go away. But Doc's not the first up. I started with "..." because, well, it's my first time making one of these, and I figured that if he needed some sewing on the outside, it wouldn't hurt 'im much.
I'm generally pleased with the result. I've learned a ton
about what to do and what not to do, so I think the next one's going to go pretty well. I've learned especially that I hate sewing tiny clothing. Oh...how I hate it. I need a tiny sewing machine so I don't have to do it by hand again.
I've got enough fabric to make a few of each of the characters, so I'm considering selling them. Don't even start asking for one and how much they'll be, because I don't know. I might kill myself before this is over. I'll be giving a portion of what I earn to Tess through her donations, though. I seriously don't think I'll have any other computer wallpapers ever again.
Another "..." is next on the list, just so I can keep practicing before I get started on the ones that don't have stitching on the outside. It's going to take a lot longer, though, since classes are starting up again tomorrow. I hope my professors don't mind me sewing in class.
Many, many thanks to
for the pattern and the tutorial. Couldn't have done this without it!
Comments are most welcome. There are several things I know I need to fix, but feel free to tell me what you think needs improvement. But be specific, not like "OMG EVERYTHING!" I already know that.
The book's there for size reference as well as being highly appropriate, me thinks. ¡Shameless comic plug!
